About
I am the chairperson of the Whitfield & Eddy Law Insurance Law Practice Group and my practice primarily consists of defending cases involving claims against individuals, insurance carriers, businesses, and financial institutions. Throughout my career, I have tried dozens of cases. I am licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, as well as the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Given my level of jury trial experience, I was elected into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national invitation-only organization for lawyers requiring significant jury trial experience as a qualification for membership. I am the Immediate Past President of the Iowa Chapter of ABOTA. In addition to ABOTA, I am an active member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), a peer-selected organization composed of leaders in the legal defense community who have achieved professional distinction. I have also been named a Fellow in the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, an organization limited to 250 of the most experienced trial lawyers in the State of Iowa. I am have been rated by Martindale-Hubbell at the AV (highest) level for legal ethics and ability. In addition to my courtroom experience, I am well-versed in representing clients who need alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and arbitrations. I have likewise prosecuted and defended numerous cases on appeal.
