My primary practice emphasis is in construction law, including construction defects, delay claims, claims for extra work, mechanic’s liens and contract interpretation. I have extensive experience in trial and appellate work, arbitrations, mediations, contract review and consulting. I am a regular writer and speaker, having presented many seminars and lectures to professional, construction and civic groups throughout the State of Iowa, surrounding states and international locations concerning construction-related legal issues. My undergraduate degree from Iowa State University is in Construction Engineering and prior to attending law school, I was a contractor and real estate developer for over fourteen years. I obtained my law degree from Drake University in 1992, graduating Order of the Coif.
