Mr. Kenigsberg routinely advises leading insurers throughout the country on matters involving insurance coverage law. He has successfully argued motions for summary judgment before the United States District Court and was involved in obtaining the recent decision favorable to the insurance industry in Buell Industries, Inc. by the Connecticut Supreme Court. In 2009, Mr. Kenigsberg obtained summary judgment in an ERISA matter which upheld the insurer's right to disclaim coverage for experimental and investigational spinal surgeries. That case addressed many vital issues for insurers in this area, including maintaining discretionary authority. Mr. Kenigsberg's articles on Brownfield development issues have appeared in the Insurance Advocate and the Real Estate Finance Journal. He organized one of the first area conferences on the issue of Brownfields and the new federal legislation. He is also co-author of the publication, Advanced Civil Discovery for the Litigation Paralegal in New York, The Institute for Paralegal Education (2001). Mr. Kenigsberg has presented at Mealey's Conferences, the Eastern Claims Conference in New York and the International Claims Association Conference in Florida. Mr. Kenigsberg is a member of the Life, Health and Disability Committee of the Defense Research Institute, the International Claims Association and ARIAS-US. He has also served on the Board of Directors of several not-for-profit organizations focusing efforts on improving the quality of life on Long Island.
