David L. Noteworthy settlements include landmark cases such as $119 million in United States ex rel. Jeanne Byrne v. Damon Clinical Laboratories, Inc. and $81 million in United States ex rel. Angela Maher & Anastasia Savka Klovski v. Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. David’s commitment to justice is exemplified by his representation of a whistleblower in a harrowing case against a Detroit physician who misled patients into believing they had cancer for personal gain. This case, which garnered national attention and was featured on CBS's “Whistleblowers,” resulted in a conviction and a significant recovery of $17 million for fraudulent billing to Medicare. In addition to his litigation prowess, David is a recognized thought leader in the field, having authored numerous articles on fraud in Medicare and Medicaid, as well as the intricacies of the False Claims Act. He is deeply engaged in the legal community, having held leadership roles in the Michigan and Oakland County Bar Associations, including past chair of the Professionalism Committees and past president of the Oakland County Bar Foundation. An alumnus of the University of Michigan, David also contributed to the academic community as an Adjunct Professor of Health Law at the University of Michigan Law School. His professional accolades, including the Professionalism Award from the Oakland County Bar Association and recognition as a “Leader in the Law” by Lawyer’s Weekly Magazine, underscore his dedication to advancing the field of law and supporting his clients.
