TERRY MCCORMICK I graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1993. After graduation, I worked for AT&T Universal Card Services in the legal department in Jacksonville, Florida. My primary responsibility was drafting and negotiating contracts with companies such as Microsoft and Lucent Technologies. I then worked an Assistant State Attorney in Sarasota, FL from 1997-2002. As a prosecutor, I took over one hundred cases to a jury verdict, including DUIs, domestic violence, misdemeanors, and felonies. I started my own legal practice in Sarasota after my time as a prosecutor. My practice was divided between criminal and family law. I defended many people accused of crimes such as DUI, domestic violence, possession or sale of controlled substances, assault, and various other misdemeanors and felonies. As a family law practitioner, I worked on divorce matters, legal separations, pre-nuptial agreements, modification of judgments, and matters related to restraining orders. I moved with my wife and child to Astoria in late 2007 and continue to practice both criminal and family law. I believe it is important to take each case individually and to treat my clients with respect. I continue to represent people accused of crimes, including DUII. Family law continues to be an essential part of my practice, including divorce, separation, modifications, restraining and stalking orders.
