An Alabama native, Tanganyika earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alabama A&M University in 2001, followed by her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, in 2005. While at Cumberland, she honed her skills in alternative dispute resolution and was a key member of the National Mediation Team, achieving first place at the American Bar Association National Mediation Competition in Los Angeles, CA, in 2005. Her passion for mediation led her to represent the United States in the inaugural International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris, France. Before founding NGL in 2016, Tanganyika served as a Conciliation Specialist with the U.S. Department of Justice's Community Relations Service in Atlanta, GA. In this role, she played a pivotal part in addressing community conflicts related to race and national origin, contributing significantly to the Annual Assessment of Racial Tension submitted to the U.S. Attorney General and Congress. Beyond her legal practice, Tanganyika is an engaged member of the Alabama State Bar and the Georgia Bar Associations. She also dedicates her time to philanthropic efforts as a board member for Independent Rights and Resources, a nonprofit focused on empowering individuals with disabilities.
