Rob Leighton is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota and a law school graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. He has been admitted to practice in both State and Federal courts in Minnesota, as well as the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal Court of Claims. He is a member of the Minnesota and Ramsey County Bar Associations, and also served as past President of the Mower County Bar Association while practicing law in southern Minnesota. He is also an active member of the Minnesota Association for Justice (formerly the MN Trial Lawyers Association) and serves on its Board of Governors. Mr. Leighton has extensive experience in the area of civil litigation, and has tried and settled cases involving personal injury, disability, wrongful death, product liability, workers compensation and business disputes. He also represents trade and professional associations before governmental and regulatory bodies. Mr. Leighton served four terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives, serving as both assistant majority leader and assistant minority leader during his tenure in office.
