Matthew Gilbert Knopp is a distinguished attorney based in Seattle, Washington, with a dedicated focus on medical malpractice and personal injury law. A lifelong resident of Washington State, Matt completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, where he majored in Asian History and Mandarin Chinese. Graduating magna cum laude and elected to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society in his junior year, he went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington in 1979. With over 30 years of experience, Matt has established a robust practice, representing plaintiffs in a variety of complex cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, and medical negligence. His expertise extends to areas such as construction accidents, product liability, toxic substances, and pharmaceuticals. He is highly regarded within the legal community, having served on numerous committees for both the State and King County Bar Associations, and holding a notable position on the Board of Governors of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ). Additionally, he is a former Chair of the WSAJ's Medical Negligence Section and has contributed as an editor for the Association's magazine, Trial News. Matt's commitment to the legal profession is further reflected in his long-standing membership with the American Association for Justice (AAJ) since 1985. His dedication has earned him recognition as a “Super Lawyer®” by Washington Law & Politics magazine. Outside of his legal practice, Matt enjoys an active lifestyle, frequently engaging in running, biking, and weightlifting. He cherishes quality time with his wife and two daughters. His passion for the arts is evident through his past role as a member and President of the Board of Olympic Ballet Theatre in Edmonds, WA, where he has also participated onstage.
