About
I am a Denver criminal defense attorney who handles matters throughout the Denver metropolitan area. I began my legal career in the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, NY, as a law clerk to a United States magistrate judge, a position that introduced me to a wide range of criminal and civil legal issues. I then worked at a large law firm in Philadelphia, PA, where I defended Fortune 500 clients in numerous lawsuits in state and federal court, and where I also worked to found the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, a non-profit legal clinic devoted to overturning wrongful criminal convictions. This latter experience, as well as my experience as a clerk in federal court, led me to open my own criminal defense firm. In addition to my private clients, I also handle criminal matters as court-appointed counsel for clients in various Colorado courts and jurisdictions. Prior to attending law school, I was a print journalist, writing and researching articles for various national publications. Before that, and after graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder, I spent three years as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa.
