About
John William Ballew is a highly esteemed attorney based in Lincoln, Nebraska, specializing in personal injury and tax law. He began his legal career in Scottsbluff, where he became a partner at Simmons, Olsen, Ediger, Selzer & Ballew P.C. In 1991, John returned to Lincoln to join Baylor, Evnen, Curtiss, Grimit & Witt, and in 1995, he co-founded The Bruckner/Ballew Law Firm, P.C. The firm he currently leads was established in 1999 with Vic Covalt. Over his impressive 36-year career, John has developed a comprehensive legal practice, initially focusing on divorce, bankruptcy, personal injury (both plaintiff and defense), and worker's compensation. He now concentrates on complex and high-asset divorce litigation and appellate advocacy. John is recognized as one of only eleven lawyers in Nebraska who is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and one of only two attorneys in the state who is both a Fellow of the Academy and Board Certified as a Family Law Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. In his personal time, John enjoys scuba diving, spending weekends at his cabin in Long Pine, Nebraska, and playing guitar with his band, The Wheezetones.
