Guy Richard Cook is a seasoned attorney with over 35 years of experience in the legal field, specializing in Business Litigation, Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Insurance, General Practice, and Tax law. A distinguished double board-certified trial lawyer by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, Guy has successfully handled more than 1,000 litigated matters and has tried over 200 jury trials, earning him a reputation as one of Iowa's top litigators. Guy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa in 1979 and earned his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School in 1981. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for Justice J.L. Larson of the Iowa Supreme Court and later served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa, where he prosecuted high-profile cases, including the largest insurance fraud in the state’s history. A past president of the Iowa State Bar Association and the Polk County Bar Association, Guy is actively involved in legal education and community service. He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, and has been recognized for his ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell. Outside of his legal practice, Guy is committed to philanthropy and community involvement, having notably donated a kidney to his son.
