I am a Board Certified Workers' Compensation Specialist, and I also serve on the North Carolina State Bar Workers' Compensation Specialization Committee. I am the Co-Editor of a LexisNexis publication called "North Carolina Workers' Compensation Law: A Practical Guide to Success at Every Stage of a Claim." I was named "Lawyer of the Year" for 2014 by Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of "Workers' Compensation Law- Claimants" for the Raleigh metropolitan area. I am a past Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. I am a member of the North Carolina Industrial Commission Advisory Council. I have been representing injured workers since 2001. Before that, I worked at the North Carolina Industrial Commission as a Special Deputy Commissioner. I also am a certified Superior Court mediator.
