Douglas Jewell has been a trial attorney for over 30 years, first as a deputy and then chief deputy district attorney in Denver for 12 years where he prosecuted through trial scores of felony and misdemeanor cases. He then moved to private practice as a partner with Bruno, Colin, Jewell & Lowe, P.C., for 17 years, and then The Law Office of Douglas Jewell, LLC, primarily representing public safety officers throughout Colorado in criminal, administrative and civil matters in both state and federal court, as well as disciplinary hearings. Douglas continues that practice at the Law Office of Douglas Jewell, LLC. Douglas specializes in criminal defense in a variety of felony, misdemeanor, and traffic criminal cases. Douglas also has extensive experience in employment law, including representation of plaintiffs in Title VII and discrimination suits, as well as ADA, FMLA and FLSA matters. He has been recognized by Martindale-Hubble peer and judiciary review as the highest ranking in legal proficiency and professionalism for the past 10 years. He belongs to the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court, the Denver, Colorado and American Bar Associations, as well as the Federal Bar Association and the Faculty of Federal Advocates.
