About
I have extensive experience in both criminal and civil law and procedure. As an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, I had extensive courtroom exposure and trial experience with various courts and judges, eliciting testimony and evidence from numerous witnesses at preliminary examinations, hearings, and bench and jury trials. My civil litigation practice has required me to appear in numerous courts throughout the state, for oral argument on complex pre-trial motions, preparing for and conducting bench trials, as well as argument on several cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals. My demeanor is such that I can handle an environment which can be both adversarial and stressful. I am a dedicated, hard-working and motivated career woman, supported by a wonderful family, with experience in a wide range of legal arenas. I believe that my extensive civil and criminal litigation experience has given me extensive experience on both sides of a legal issue, thereby giving me a balanced perspective. I have strong ties to Macomb County and my community. I am a long-time resident of Macomb County involved in numerous organizations and in school and sporting activities for my son, a student in the Utica Community School system. In addition, my husband was a professional firefighter/paramedic for 25 years with the Shelby Township Fire Department, a professional, IAFF full-time fire department, where he recently retired as a Battalion Chief.
