Jones, Esq., is in solo practice at Colorado Affordable Legal Services, LLC which is a limited-scope modern law practice. April obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree (English) from the University of Utah (’02) and is a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law School (’05). She is a veteran tenant rights & fair housing law attorney that presents regular educational clinic’s and workshops on landlord tenant related matters in Denver, Jefferson and Arapahoe Counties. April is also the 2017 recipient of the Sam Cary Bar Association “Warrior of Justice” Award. April is also the Co-founder & Legal Services Director at the Colorado Eviction Defense Center (CEDC). The Mission of the CEDC is to be a valuable community stakeholder that provides information on the legal rights of tenants, the legal process, legal procedures and affordable legal representation when needed to “Balance the Scales of Justice”. The CEDC is a non-profit, self-sustaining law firm that provides tenants with Access to Justice in the form of advocacy based upon the principles of a Modern Law Practice Initiative (unbundled). The CEDC developed the Housing Eviction Legal Program (HELP) project to close the civil justice gap in Colorado and to minimize the direct negative effect of eviction actions that can often lead to homelessness.
