About
Adam S. Cohen is an attorney in the Memphis office of Siskind Susser, where he practices exclusively immigration and nationality law. Mr. Cohen represents corporate and individual clients in several areas of immigration law, with a particular concentration on the immigration of physicians and arts and sports professionals. Mr. Cohen is a member of the International Medical Graduate Taskforce, a national coalition of professionals in medicine and law dedicated to assisting foreign-born physicians provide improved healthcare to rural and underserved areas of the United States. () He also coordinates and contributes frequent posts to Siskind Susser's MD VisaBoard, an online resource to help international medical graduates learn about the physician immigration process. () Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cohen worked as both a Judicial Law Clerk for the Orlando Immigration Court and an Attorney Advisor for the Memphis Immigration Court. In those positions, he spent countless hours researching and writing decisions on various aspects of immigration law. Thereafter, he worked at a private immigration law firm with particular concentration on removal/deportation proceedings and family immigration. Mr. Cohen earned his Juris Doctor degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. In law school, he was the recipient of a Book Award in Torts, was selected to the Florida Journal of International Law, and was awarded Pro Bono and Community Service Certificates. In addition, he participated as a Certified Legal Intern at the Family Law Clinic and worked as a Summer Legal Intern at the Houston Immigration Court. Mr. Cohen earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Florida. During his undergraduate education, Mr. Cohen was accepted into the Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key Honor Societies. Moreover, he was selected as a University Scholar and received Highest Honors Distinction for his undergraduate thesis. Mr. Cohen has studied abroad in Spain and Mexico, worked as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) educator, and tutored foreign students in English. Mr. Cohen is a board member of the Federal Bar Association Memphis Mid-South Chapter and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Immigration Law Section of the Federal Bar Association, and the Florida Bar.
