William P. Hackett, Esq. is a seasoned attorney based in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, specializing in immigration and real estate law. With extensive experience in both state and federal courts, Mr. Hackett has also engaged in civil litigation and intellectual property matters, showcasing his versatile legal expertise. A graduate of Detroit Redford High School in 1980, Mr. Hackett earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Labor Studies from Wayne State University in 1987. During his undergraduate years, he interned with the Teamsters for a Democratic Union, a reform group advocating for greater democracy within the Teamsters Union. Mr. Hackett pursued his legal education at the Detroit College of Law, where he graduated in 1994. While in law school, he volunteered as an intern at the Maurice and Jane Sugar Center for Social and Economic Justice and was an active member of the National Lawyers Guild. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2003. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Hackett gained valuable experience in the construction industry, which has informed his understanding of real estate matters. He resides in the Detroit area with his significant other and their five children, where he enjoys spending quality time with his family.
