William Alan Maschmeyer, affectionately known as Bill, is an accomplished attorney based in Indiana, specializing in estate planning. With a solid foundation in journalism from Purdue University, where he earned his bachelor's degree, Bill has honed his exceptional writing skills to craft compelling legal pleadings and arguments. His journey in law began after graduating from the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis with a Juris Doctor degree in 1985. Bill's legal career took off as he served as Deputy Attorney General under Lindley Pearson, where he gained invaluable experience that would shape his future endeavors. Shortly thereafter, he established his own practice, eventually catching the attention of the senior partners at Haggerty, Haggerty and Maschmeyer, where he became a partner in 1987. Over the years, Bill has developed a broad expertise in various areas of law, including civil and domestic mediation, collections, criminal defense, traffic law, personal injury, elder law, probate, small business law, trusts, and wills, with a particular focus on estate planning. Beyond his law practice, Bill is deeply committed to his community. A lifelong member of Friedens United Church of Christ, he has served on its board and has held various public service roles, including Republican Precinct Committeeman and elected member of both the Franklin Community School Corporation School Board and the Central-9 Career Center Board. In his personal life, Bill enjoys nurturing his garden and is an enthusiastic fisherman. A dedicated family man, he and his wife Nancy have actively participated in youth sports as coaches and players, while their son Craig is pursuing his studies as an honors Miller Business Scholar at Ball State University.
