Thomas H. Ainsworth is an accomplished attorney based in Charlotte, NC, with over 40 years of experience in general practice and personal injury law. A graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1980, Thomas also holds a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med from Davidson College and completed advanced studies in Medical Sciences at Florida State University. Beginning his legal career shortly after law school, Thomas initially worked as an editor in a legal publishing company before joining the Charlotte legal community in 1983. He has since established himself as a dedicated litigator, focusing primarily on personal injury cases. Throughout his career, he has successfully tried over 400 jury trials, gaining recognition as a member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum and being named among the Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in North Carolina by the National Trial Lawyers Association. Thomas has a rich history of involvement with prestigious organizations such as the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He started his personal injury practice with Downer, Walters & Mitchener in 1988, handling a variety of cases, particularly automobile accidents. He later expanded his expertise by collaborating with several prominent law firms before founding his own practice and furthering his qualifications with certified mediation training. Outside of his legal practice, Thomas enjoys engaging in pub trivia, Revolutionary War re-enacting, and traveling, while remaining a devoted fan of Philadelphia and Penn State sports teams. He is the proud father of a daughter, Rachel, who resides in Brussels, Belgium, and holds a PhD in History.
