Tara Coats Hunt is a seasoned attorney based in Salem, Indiana, with a comprehensive background in estate planning and a diverse array of legal practice areas. Originally from Salem, Tara moved to Wisconsin in 2000, where she earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, graduating in 2003. After being admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin in May of the same year, she practiced law in Wisconsin until 2009, specializing in complex litigation matters, including high-stakes fire and explosion cases as well as auto liability issues. Upon returning to her roots in Indiana, Tara obtained her license to practice law in 2009 and expanded her legal expertise to include various fields such as divorce, child custody, guardianship, bankruptcy, and criminal defense. Her extensive experience equips her to handle a wide range of legal challenges with skill and professionalism. In July 2013, Tara co-founded Hunt Rippey Law with attorney Johanna D. Rippey, establishing a law firm that focuses on providing exceptional legal services to clients in Salem and beyond. The firm is committed to addressing clients’ legal needs, particularly in the realm of estate planning, ensuring that clients’ wishes are honored and their legacies are protected. Outside of her legal practice, Tara enjoys a fulfilling personal life with her husband, Chris, and their two young boys. They reside on a charming "hobby" farm in the picturesque countryside of Washington County, Indiana, where they share their home with their dogs and a herd of miniature donkeys. In her free time, Tara cherishes moments spent with family and friends, whether it’s fishing or enjoying cozy evenings around a bonfire.
