Meet Suzanne Plyler Shankar, a dedicated family law attorney based in Fayetteville, NC, specializing in divorce and separation cases. With deep roots in Lancaster, South Carolina, Suzanne brings a unique blend of local insight and legal expertise to her practice. She graduated from Lancaster High School before earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Suzanne pursued her passion for law at Campbell University Law School, where she distinguished herself as a finalist in the Moot Court Trial Competition. Her commitment to advocacy and legal excellence was further demonstrated through her active participation in the Student Bar Association and the Women in Law organization. Her legal journey includes valuable clerkship experiences with the Honorable Monica Bousman, Attorney Erin Graber in Wake County, and the Center for Children’s Defense in Charlotte. After obtaining her law degree, Suzanne joined The Mitchell Law Group in Fayetteville, where she honed her skills in family law as an associate attorney. In 2010, she transitioned to Margit M. Hicks, PA, working alongside Margit Hicks until 2023. Now, she proudly partners with her husband, Chandan Shankar, at the Shankar Law Firm, where they provide comprehensive legal services, including criminal, traffic, and personal injury law.
