Stephanie Lynn Ramos, Esq. is a dedicated immigration attorney based in White Plains, NY, whose journey to the legal profession is as inspiring as it is unique. Growing up in Newark, NJ, as part of a large, low-income family, Stephanie's early life was marked by resilience and determination. Her grandfather's journey through Ellis Island in the 1920s and her father's immigration from Puerto Rico in the late 1970s profoundly shaped her understanding of the immigrant experience. At just 14, Stephanie faced significant challenges when she moved to Elizabeth, NJ, to live with her grandmother. Despite the obstacles, she excelled academically, graduating at the top of her class from Elizabeth High School in 2000. Her pursuit of higher education was not without struggle; after overcoming personal hardships, including a difficult divorce and the responsibilities of single motherhood, she proudly graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut in 2009, earning a Bachelor's degree in Human Services and a minor in Women's Studies. During her time at UConn, Stephanie became a passionate advocate for women and minorities, organizing initiatives to combat discrimination and support vulnerable communities. Inspired by her mentor, Dr. Ingrid Semaan, who recognized her potential as a lawyer, Stephanie began to consider a legal career seriously. After graduating, she worked at the Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Stamford, CT, where she witnessed firsthand the critical need for legal assistance among women facing abuse, particularly regarding immigration-related issues. This experience solidified her commitment to immigration law, prompting her to enroll at Pace Law School in 2011, where she further honed her skills in the Immigration Justice Clinic. In 2014, Stephanie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace Law School and began her legal journey as a fellow at the Pace Community Law Practice. Her dedication to immigration law culminated in the establishment of Lacroix Ramos, LLP, with her partner Miriam Lacroix, Esq., in September 2015. Today, Stephanie proudly serves clients from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate the complexities of family and humanitarian visas. Outside of her thriving practice, Stephanie enjoys volunteering in her community, reading, and cherishing time with her daughter and their cat, Kyo. She remains committed to expanding Lacroix Ramos, LLP, to assist even more immigrants in achieving their dreams of coming to the United States. Admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, Stephanie Lynn Ramos embodies the spirit of advocacy and compassion that defines her legal career.
