Sheryl Lynn Edgar is a distinguished senior partner at A Center for Children & Family Law, where she dedicates her legal expertise to the multifaceted landscape of family law. Licensed to practice in California and before the United States Supreme Court, Sheryl has built a reputation as a compassionate advocate for children and families. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Fullerton, followed by her Juris Doctorate from Western State University. Sheryl’s extensive practice encompasses vital areas such as adoption, child custody, guardianships, dependency law, and paternity cases. Her commitment to the well-being of children is reflected in her role as a representative for minors in contentious legal matters, where she has successfully advocated for over a thousand children and indigent parents throughout her career. Before co-founding A Center for Children & Family Law in 1995, Sheryl honed her skills as a law clerk for Commissioner Thomas H. Parrott and as an extern for Justice David G. Sills of the Fourth Appellate District. Recognizing a gap in legal services that prioritize children’s needs, Sheryl and her partner, Tisha Harman, established their firm with a mission to serve as the "voice of the children" within the legal system. A passionate advocate against domestic violence, Sheryl dedicates her time to supporting survivors through outreach programs and various organizations. She is an active member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar, Orange County Bar, and the National Association of Counsel for Children. Residing in South Orange County with her five children, Sheryl balances her professional life with family, enjoying activities such as snow skiing, hiking, and volleyball. Her personal experiences fuel her dedication to helping families navigate the complexities of the law, reaffirming her commitment to foster a safer, more supportive environment for children.
