Throughout her time at Harvard, Shawn gained invaluable experience in various legal sectors, working at a local Legal Aid Center to support entrepreneurship and business law for residents. Her tenure included roles at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office, where she contributed to both civil and criminal matters. Additionally, her work with the Massachusetts Department of Food and Agriculture allowed her to advocate for the preservation of vital agricultural land in urbanized regions. With a multifaceted background in agriculture, small business, and real estate development, Shawn's legal practice encompasses personal injury and real estate law. She has served as private counsel for a real estate development firm and has extensive experience working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Small Business Administration. After spending 14 years in Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, and California, Shawn returned to Southeastern Minnesota to establish her law practice in a beautifully restored 110-year-old historic building, a testament to her belief in the importance of sustaining local businesses.
