About

Ms. Lewis represents lawyers and other non-medical professionals in diverse litigation, including commercial litigation, securities fraud, intellectual property, malpractice, fraud, R.I.C.O, contract breach, constitutional violations, and other tort theories. Ms. Lewis handles errors and omissions claims that have been brought against a variety of professionals, such as lawyers, appraisers, tax planners, computer and software consultants, funeral home directors, pharmacists and others. Ms. Lewis also specializes in representing manufacturers, distributors and maintenance companies in connection with medical device and product liability claims, including angioplasty devices, coronary and tracheal stents, orthopedic and dental implants, operating room fixtures, disposable medical products, factory and farm machinery, hair dye and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, industrial and consumer electrical products. With particular expertise in technology law issues, Ms. Lewis represents entities at the cutting edge of twenty-first century technology, including Internet registrars, software designers and various Internet and computer service providers. She has litigated cases involving domain name disputes, cybersquatting, freedom of speech, online and "click wrap" contracts, jurisdiction, and antitrust and trademark violation in that medium. She also drafts technology and online contracts on behalf of technology vendors and consumers, as well as policies and/or terms of service for use on her clients' websites. Ms. Lewis regularly appears in state and federal courts. She has extensive experience handling complex class actions and multi-claimant multi-district litigation ("MDL"). She consults with attorneys throughout the firm on issues of federal and state electronic discovery obligations and the issuance of litigation holds in response to pending or anticipated litigation. Ms. Lewis frequently lectures and publishes articles on the topics of Internet law, e-discovery, domain names, attorney - corporate client privilege, attorney malpractice, medical device litigation, computer liabilities and other liability-related issues, including as a bi-monthly columnist for the New York Law Journal on the topic of Internet and Social Media Law. Among her many professional affiliations, Ms. Lewis is a member of the Defense Research Institute's Professional Liability and Product Liability Substantive Law Committees, where she serves on the Steering Committee for the Professional Liability Committee and as Chair of that Committee's Social Media Subcommittee. Ms. Lewis is also a member of Council for Litigation Management, in the Professional Liability and Product Liability Committees, in connection with which she serves as the Chair of the CyberLiability Subcommittee.
