Scott A. Benkie is a partner at the law firm of Benkie & Crawford in Indianapolis, where he represents clients in business litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and class action cases. Scott serves as the Hamilton County Attorney. He graduated from Hanover College with a B.A., earning Dean’s List Honors from 1979 to 1982, and received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1985. Scott was invited to join the Law Review in 1983 and was a member of the National Moot Court Society. He has contributed articles to The Indiana Lawyer, The Verdict, and Res Gestae focusing on punitive damages in wrongful death cases. Scott taught legal writing as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. Scott most recently authored a legal thriller, The Lawyer’s Angel. Scott is a sustaining member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. His professional excellence is reflected in his AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest designation for quality and ethics, and his inclusion in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Scott holds NSCA certification in strength and conditioning and enjoys weightlifting.
