About
Originally from Yakima, Washington, Ms. Gouveia attended Gonzaga University, where her education focused on Criminal Justice and Psychology. During her undergraduate education, Ms. Gouveia volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission's Crisis Shelter for Women and Children, and helped launch a community gardening project in a low-income area of Spokane. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2014. While studying at Gonzaga, she volunteered in the school's Moderate Means Program, matching low-income clients with volunteer attorneys eager to work on their cases. In addition, she worked in the University's Indian Law and General Practice Clinic, where she represented clients in a variety of cases ranging from child custody matters, to juvenile criminal defense, to estate planning matters and more under supervision. Ms. Gouveia is admitted to the State Bar of Washington, and is also licensed to practice in the Tribal Court of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. She is a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. She served as Justice of the Connelly Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta at Gonzaga University during her time at law school, and was a member of the By-Law Revision Committee in 2014. She is currently in the process of starting a Phi Alpha Delta Western Washington Alumni Chapter. Ms. Gouveia enjoys working closely with clients, and considers it her goal as an advocate to fully understand and acknowledge their needs and desires. She feels that an open, honest, and respectful approach to communication with clients, opposing parties, and their attorneys alike is the best way to find a resolution to a conflict that works for everyone involved. Fittingly, as an attorney at Ashby Law, Ms. Gouveia, like the rest of the Ashby Law team, seeks to find collaborative solutions to family-law disputes.
