A native of Sheridan, Wyoming, Ryan developed a passion for the outdoors, frequently hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting in the Bighorn Mountains. He began his academic journey in public school before transitioning to homeschooling, ultimately enrolling at Sheridan College at just 14 years old. Ryan graduated with honors as the youngest student at 17. After working as an insurance agent in his family’s business, Ryan honed his communication skills on the Sheridan College speech and debate team, earning regional and national accolades. This success led him to Northern Arizona University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science in 2003. In 2005, Ryan pursued his legal education at Georgetown University Law Center, gaining valuable experience working for the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pension Committee under Senator Michael Enzi. Following his graduation, he practiced commercial and corporate law at a boutique firm in New York City, where he navigated various legal fields, including criminal law and international law. Returning to Wyoming in 2012, Ryan served as a Deputy County Attorney and later as an Assistant District Attorney in Laramie County, where he prosecuted complex felonies and managed significant drug prosecutions as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. With extensive trial experience and a comprehensive understanding of the law, Ryan is committed to serving his clients with integrity and expertise.
