About
Mr. Roundy spent six years in the securities and financial industries as an investment analyst and accountant. He worked for such diverse companies as private equity firms and hedge funds to private mortgage lenders and AM100 law firms. In his financial career, he worked on large scale financial transactions and consulted on such diverse areas as Federal and California income taxation, transactional due diligence, commercial loans, Securities & Exchange Commission reporting and compliance, and corporate reorganization. This experience allows Mr. Roundy to provide his clients with counsel and representation based on a conversant understanding of corporate, real estate, and securities issues. Since transitioning to legal practice, Mr. Roundy has focused his practice on real estate, securities, bankruptcy, and business litigation. He has represented clients on a diverse set of issues, including defense of corporate officers against fraud claims brought by the U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee, prosecuting complex actions related to Tenant-In-Common real estate investments in commercial property, defended debt collections companies against Fair Debt Collections Practices Act claims, represented plaintiffs in accounting and legal malpractice actions, and prosecuted complex claims related to varied contract, commercial, and business litigation. Mr. Roundy joined the Sacramento office of Murphy Campbell in 2013 after working for two years in private legal practice in Los Angeles, California. In 2001, Mr. Roundy graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and from Whittier Law School in 2010 with a juris doctorate. In law school, Mr. Roundy was a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor’s Board and won a CALI award for legal writing. Mr. Roundy is a member of the California State Bar, all California U.S. District Courts, the 9th District Court of Appeals and all California U.S. District Bankruptcy Courts.
