Robbie Childs was born and grew up in Northern Greenville County, South Carolina. He attended Slater-Marietta Elementary School, Slater-Marietta High School and graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 1977. He received his undergraduate degree with a double major in Finance and Marketing in just 3 years at the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1983 and was admitted to practice by the South Carolina Bar in 1984. Robbie was hired to supervise a juvenile defense project in the Second Judicial Circuit in 1984 and was named the Public Defender for Aiken County, South Carolina in 1986. He returned to Greenville County in 1987 as an Assistant Circuit Solicitor for the 13th Judicial Circuit. He was appointed the County Attorney for Greenville County in 1988. Robbie returned to prosecution in 1990 as the Deputy Solicitor for the 13th Judicial Circuit, South Carolina. In 1993 Robbie entered the private practice of law in Greenville County, specializing in injuries, criminal defense, domestic litigation and governmental litigation.
