Or, your inevitable death which leaves the question of who gets your "stuff" and, if you have minor children, who will take care of them. Many of our clients say that working with us was easier - and more comprehensive - than they expected. When you begin to work with us, we ask a lot of questions so that we can understand what you really want. We then counsel and suggest the best way to translate your desires into documents such as healthcare directives, powers of attorney, wills, and trusts. These legal documents are a necessity, but they are a byproduct of understanding what you want to happen under various situations. A plan that is done once, stuck in a drawer and never looked at again is not going to be the best plan to take care of your family when you most need it. So, we communicate regularly via emails, newsletters and phone calls so that we can help you keep your plan current with your changing family, your changing assets, and the changing law. In addition, we charge only flat fees agreed to in advance. You'll never get a surprise bill in the mail.
