About
I have been an attorney for more than 30 years, focusing equally on business litigation, business transactions, business formation, real estate transactions, and real estate litigation. I have handled many cases through trials and appeals in both federal and state courts, and I have handled thousands of real estate matters. Also, for years I was on my town's zoning board of adjustment (chairman for a few years) and have experience i laand-use issues from both the developer's side and the board's side. When I handle transactions, the goal is to avoid court. When I am in court, the goal is to try to resolve a matter favorably and quickly. I am comfortable handling real estate litigation when a transaction falls apart because of someone's breach. I have also devoted myself to non-profit causes over the years, including civic groups, teaching, land conservation, and theater (on the administrative side, not as an actor). Most recently I have been serving as president of my college (M.I.T.) northern NJ alumni association. Outside my business, I am a voracious reader, enjoy jogging (used to be more actual running), and am a nationally ranked chess master. I enjoy reading math books, which I know is an unusual hobby. I am the author of one published poem that I think is pretty good.
