Paul Heatherman graduated from Willamette University, College of Law in 1993, where he was an editor of the Law Review. He clerked for the Honorable Paul De Muniz at the Oregon Court of Appeals, from 1993-95. He began his private practice in Bend in 1995 and specializes in estate planning. Paul is in his tenth year as a trial panel member of the Oregon State Bar Disciplinary Board Trial Panel. He also served on the Oregon State Bar Procedures and Practice Committee to review and propose improvements to laws that govern litigation. Paul is published in: Community Service Paul Heatherman has represented Oregon Legal Services (Legal Aid) for five years. His duties involve litigation services to protect those in poverty from consumer fraud schemers, unscrupulous landlords, and others who exploit the disadvantaged. Paul has volunteered as a special deputy district attorney for Deschutes County, in which he has prosecuted defendants in 13 jury trials. Paul has also served as a board member and officer of the Growing Tree Children's Center, Inc., for over five years. The Growing Tree is a non-profit day care and preschool that has served Bend for over 20 years and has 25 employees. Paul provided legal counsel, helped negotiate, and arranged for financing in the Growing Tree's successful efforts in 1999 to purchase its 5000 square foot facility.
