Nicholas Anthony Dicello is a seasoned attorney at Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP, where he has been an associate since 2004. A magna cum laude graduate of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (2002), Nicholas made significant contributions as the managing editor of the Cleveland State Law Review. His published article, "No Pain, No Gain, No Compensation: Exploiting Professional Athletes Through Substandard Medical Care Administered By Team Physicians," highlighted critical medical malpractice concerns in professional sports and garnered several accolades in the legal community. Before joining Spangenberg, Nicholas honed his legal skills as a law clerk for the late Judge John M. Manos at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in Ohio and is an active member of the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Bar Association, the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Ohio Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice. Recognized for his legal acumen, he was named a "Rising Star" by Law & Politics® magazine in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. Nicholas has successfully litigated a broad range of cases, focusing on bankruptcy litigation, business litigation, class actions, insurance disputes, medical malpractice, and personal injury claims. His experience includes serving as special litigation co-counsel for debtors and unsecured creditors, as well as handling commercial insurance disputes. A Cleveland native, Nicholas graduated from Hawken Upper School in 1994 before attending Lehigh University, where he earned a B.A. in Earth and Environmental Sciences with honors. As a Division I college soccer player, he achieved recognition as an Academic All-American goalkeeper and later played professionally with the Cleveland Crunch, contributing to the 1999 N.P.S.L. championship team.
