Mr. Lettrich handles a full range of complex commercial litigation matters with a special emphasis on civil rights, employment and healthcare litigation. His practice focuses on representing the healthcare industry, government officials, and employers. Mr. Lettrich counsels and defends employers in sexual harassment, age discrimination, non-competition agreements, and wrongful discharge claims. His practice includes claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”). Mr. Lettrich defends governmental entities and officials and in civil rights actions under the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments including due process claims, excessive force, malicious prosecution, political retaliation, freedom of speech, religion and assembly. . He has successfully represented clients in claims under Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (“RLUIPA”), as well as the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Act and Municipalities Planning Code in courts of common pleas, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Michael defends corporations in litigation involving health care, medical devices, prescription pharmaceuticals, drug testing, implantable drug delivery systems, and biological products. He defends diagnostic testing laboratories, physicians, nurses and nursing care providers in claims alleging professional malpractice. He has litigated claims against skilled nursing facilities in claims brought under the Federal Nursing Home Reform Act. Mr. Lettrich has defended his clients’ interests in courts across the nation. He has litigated claims in state, federal and administrative courts including the United States Court of Appeal for the Third Circuit as well as the Pennsylvania Superior, Commonwealth and Supreme Courts. He has represented corporate clients pro hac vice in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Missouri. Michael graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994 with a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Widener University School of Law in 1997 where he was an editor of its Law Review. He has been selected as a Pennsylvania Superlawyers Rising Star for 2011.
