After graduating from Elder High School, he began his professional journey as a police officer with the Cincinnati Police Department, where he developed a passion for the judicial system. This early exposure to the courtroom environment sparked his desire to pursue a legal career, leading him to enroll at the Ohio Northern University College of Law. Upon earning his law degree, Mike honed his skills as an Assistant Prosecutor in various jurisdictions, including Preble County and the City of Cincinnati, and later as an Assistant Prosecutor for Hamilton County. His dedication and expertise in the legal arena were recognized when he was appointed to the Hamilton County Municipal Court by Governor George Voinovich in 1992, a position he was later elected to in 1998. His political acumen became evident when he transitioned from the bench to serve as Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party and subsequently was appointed Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney in 1999, a role in which he served until 2004. In 2006, Mike established Michael K. Allen & Associates, focusing on criminal defense, where he continues to provide clients with exceptional legal representation. His influence extends beyond the courtroom; since February 2016, he has hosted the popular Saturday Mid-Day radio show on 700 WLW, and he serves as the Chief Legal Analyst for Fox 19 in Cincinnati, offering insights into legal matters to the community. Outside of his professional life, Mike is a proud father, with his son, Michael Jr., following in his footsteps as a criminal defense attorney, and his daughter, Cora, serving as a Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps stationed in Australia. An avid Cincinnati Reds fan, Mike enjoys spending time with family and friends and has a passion for classic cars, particularly his beloved 1969 Chrysler 300 Convertible. With his extensive legal background and commitment to his clients, Mike Allen remains a prominent figure in Ohio's legal landscape.
