Michael J. Freestone, a Principal with Offit Kurman's Bethesda, Maryland, office, focuses his practice on business immigration law. His educational background is in International Law, International Business, International Trade, Finance, and Foreign Direct Investment. Michael began his legal career as an immigration paralegal in Washington, D.C. He completed internships at Baker & McKenzie and Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer in London. Prior to joining Palma Yanni, P.C. he worked as an Associate at Dickstein Shapiro, LLP, in Washington D.C. He has also consulted as a writer and researcher for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Michael is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, (B.A. 2003), where he received a first for his dissertation and a Socrates scholarship to study in Belgium, and obtained his LL.B., specializing in Business Law, from BPP University College London. He completed LL.Ms in International and Comparative Law and U.S. Law at the George Washington University Law School. While obtaining his masters, he served as a case reporter for the Oxford Journal of International Law in Domestic Courts, where he covered International Law issues arising in several Supreme Court terms, the First Circuit and the State of New York.
