About

Honest and authentic are not typically words used to describe attorneys. I learned that quickly when I began my legal career. For most law firms, the focus tends to be on how much revenue clients can generate rather than ensuring they obtain the justice they deserve. I knew instantly my personal values and integrity did not align with these principles. I knew my clients deserved better. As the firm’s principal attorney, I specialize in employment litigation, representing employees and small companies across North Carolina during every stage of employment. I have widespread experience representing clients at unemployment appeal hearings and before courts and administrative agencies with cases concerning all facets of discrimination, workplace harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation, The Family and Medical Leave Act, and wage and hour disputes, among others. I also serve as counsel for local unions, advising and representing the union and its members in contract interpretation, the grievance process and a variety of employment issues. My secondary practice area is focused on civil litigation and handling general negligence issues, including personal injury and other tort claims, in both state and federal court. Prior to opening Harman Law, PLLC, I gained extensive experience in this area of the law, serving as Senior Associate Attorney for a prestigious personal injury firm in Charlotte. I am a member of the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations and am currently licensed and admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts; the U.S. District Court for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of North Carolina; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
