Michael Alarid, III is a distinguished criminal defense attorney based in Phoenix, Arizona, with over 15 years of experience in the legal field. His passion for criminal defense was ignited in childhood while listening to his father's experiences representing clients in New Mexico. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico in 2004 before pursuing his Juris Doctor at Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, where he graduated in 2008. During law school, he won his first felony jury trial as a Rule 38 certified student attorney and was honored with the Distinguished Achievement in the Art and Science of Advocacy award from The International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Michael began his career at one of Arizona's premier boutique criminal defense firms, where he quickly gained invaluable experience with high-profile cases, including successful arguments before the Arizona Supreme Court that changed state law regarding marijuana DUIs. He later joined one of the largest criminal defense firms in Arizona, further honing his skills by handling a diverse array of cases ranging from DUI, theft, and assault to white-collar crimes and homicides. As a Board Certified specialist in DUI Defense Law by the National College for DUI Defense, Michael is one of only five attorneys in Arizona to achieve this recognition. He was also named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 in 2020.
