About
Michael A. Atter, J.D., an “A.V.-Preeminent” rated attorney, is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A., Magna Cum Laude, English 1976) and the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, FL (J.D. 1979). He is a member of the Florida Bar and Federal Bar-Middle District of Florida. Mr. Atter joined the Firm as an Associate in 1981 and has served as the Managing Partner since 1996, where he has overseen the growth of the Firm. Prior to coming to the Firm, he served as Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, where he prosecuted juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony offenses, from 1979 to 1981. When he left the State Attorney's Office to join the Firm, he was a Circuit Court Division Chief. At Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A., Mr. Atter has primarily represented Plaintiffs in Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, and Medical Malpractice cases. A veteran of jury trials and high-end injury cases, he has concentrated in the areas of traumatic brain injury, trucking accidents and complex medical negligence cases. Over the years, Mr. Atter has handled numerous cases resulting in seven-figure outcomes. Mr. Atter also represents clients in Family Law and Criminal Law matters. His civic involvement has included: President of Board for Five STAR Veterans’ Center; Board of Directors, Greater Jacksonville Area USO (2007-Present). Jacksonville Jaycees (Jaycee of the Year in 1983); Vice President and President of the Civic Roundtable (1984; 1985), Board of Directors, First Coast Family Center (2000-2002); Board of Visitors, FSU College of Law (2003-2006).
