With over a decade of dedicated experience in criminal law, Matthew Scott James is a steadfast advocate for the brave men and women of the United States military. After graduating with honors from law school in 2001, Matthew honed his legal skills as an attorney at the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he adeptly managed thousands of criminal cases, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to justice. In 2006, Matthew proudly joined the ranks of the Air Force JAG Corps, where he quickly distinguished himself as a prosecuting attorney. His outstanding performance led to his selection as a military defense attorney by the Judge Advocate General of the Air Force. During his tenure, he received commendations for his exemplary work and achieved the rank of Major. Ultimately, Matthew transitioned from active duty to civilian life, channeling his passion for advocacy into his role as a military defense lawyer and court-martial attorney. Now based in Boulder, Colorado, Matthew Scott James is dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation for military personnel facing legal challenges. His extensive background in criminal law, combined with his firsthand experience within the military justice system, equips him with a unique understanding of the complexities involved in military cases.
