Matt McCubbins is an attorney in Louisville, Kentucky. Matt maintains a general litigation and advisory practice. He represents businesses, professional entities, individuals, physicians, and other licensed professionals in commercial, regulatory, and tort litigation. Matt McCubbins has wide ranging experience in complex commercial litigation and business disputes; governmental and regulatory litigation including administrative law cases, governmental investigations, and professional licensure defense; health care law and physician peer review matters; catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases; and white collar criminal defense. As an extension of his litigation and advisory practice, clients regularly call upon Matt to draft legal and business documents such as commercial contracts; internal policies and procedures; and advertising, labeling, and marketing materials. Matt has also served as outside general counsel to a regional health care company with seven clinics throughout Kentucky. Matt McCubbins received his J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Bellarmine University, where he was a member of the baseball team. Matt is a proud alumnus of St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Case Western Reserve Law, Matt served a one year term as the Law Clerk to a Commonwealth of Kentucky Circuit Court Judge (trial court of general jurisdiction), where he gained valuable experience and was immersed in the inner workings of trial practice and the judicial system. Before entering the legal profession, Matt held positions in branding, sales, and marketing in Chicago, Louisville, and New York. He served as an Associate Director of Pharmaceutical Brand Development for a global brand identity firm. Matt was an Assistant Product Manager at a pharmaceutical company. And he was a Senior Analyst in Corporate Sales Operations for a large, publicly traded health insurance company. Matt McCubbins is admitted to the practice of law in Kentucky and Indiana. He is further admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western District of Kentucky, the Eastern District of Kentucky, and the Southern District of Indiana. Matt is the author of “Developments in Korean Corporate Governance: Progress toward 21st Century Standards in an Emerging Economic Powerhouse,” Int’l Trade & Bus. L. Rev., 2008. In addition to practicing law, Matt is an avid swimmer, cyclist, and runner. He is an Ironman Finisher.
