I am a Member at Hall & Evans, LLC, a regional law firm based in Denver, Colorado, and am a member of its Design & Construction practice group representing construction and design professionals on residential, commercial and governmental projects. I also represent business entities on complex business and commercial transactions, including commercial litigation, business organization and intellectual property issues. As Special Counsel I represent and counsel my clients through early project risk assessment, licensure, project management, contract drafting and negotiation, lien prosecution, pre-litigation claim resolution and mediation. I have significant experience and success as a litigator in state and federal courts, binding arbitration, and appeals on complex litigation matters ranging in damages from $1M to over $135M. I am licensed in Colorado state and federal courts, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. In addition to my direct client counseling, pre-claim and litigation experience, I am a frequent author and lecturer on issues concerning construction claims, contract drafting, liability mitigation, and current issues that arise in the construction industry. I am a faculty member for Lorman Education Services and the Colorado Bar Associations CLE in Colorado. I am the Co-Author of Hard Hat Case Notes, a quarterly article in the Construction Lawyer, the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry’s (ABA Forum) national publication, as well as a Contributing Editor. I am also also Co-Author of the ABA Forum’s Fundamentals of Construction Law, Construction Subcontract, and State and Local Project desk books. I am also an ABA Forum Steering Committee Member Division 3 - Design, and a Committee Member of Division 2 - Contract Documents. I am also a member of Associated General Contractors - Colorado, and a member of its Legislative Committee.
