Mary Ashley has been admitted to the State Bars of North Carolina and Mississippi. She has practiced law for twenty-two years and has practiced primarily in the area of real estate law for more than twenty years. Mary was born in Mobile, Alabama where she graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Birmingham Southern College and obtained her law degree at Mississippi College School of Law. Mary was elected in 2014 and 2023 to Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite" in the field of real property. Each year Business North Carolina magazine sends ballots to every practicing attorney in North Carolina and asks them which lawyers they would rate as being among the best in fourteen fields of law. The top vote getters in each field are Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite." Mary has a husband, Stephen, a daughter and a son. They are members of Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
