Marvin Pastel is a partner in the firm’s commercial litigation department and is an experienced commercial and construction litigation attorney. Marvin is the nation’s leading attorney in representing insurance disaster restoration contractors, engineers and adjusters. Marvin represents Belfor USA Group, the world’s largest disaster restoration company. His construction representation includes all areas of construction disputes from acceleration claims to defective performance, construction liens, bid protests, state and local regulatory hearings and lien claims. His business practice includes complex breach of contract claims, board of director disputes and all areas of community association disputes. Marvin’s practice also includes tort litigation, personal injury, malicious prosecution, defamation and tortuous interference. Marvin received his B.S. degree and M.B.A. degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree from Florida State University College of Law, where he served as editor on the Florida State Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Marvin was the financial officer and controller for a large, regional contractor specializing in excavation, highway, railroad, real estate development, sewer and mining. Marvin is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory which is its highest professional rating based on his years of experience and endorsement by his colleagues in the areas of professional conduct, ethics and ability. He is a member of both the Georgia and Florida Bar and splits his practice between the two states.
