Mark D. Leighton is a Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist at Leighton Katz & Drapeau in South Windsor, Connecticut. With extensive experience in representing injured individuals in work-related and personal injury cases, he brings a comprehensive understanding of both sides of the legal spectrum. Prior to his current role, Mark practiced as a claims representative and defense attorney for insurance companies, which enhances his ability to effectively advocate for his clients. Mark has held prominent positions within the legal community, including Chair and Vice-Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section, where he also served as Continuing Legal Education Chair. He is an accomplished speaker and writer, having lectured on various workers’ compensation and personal injury topics and contributed articles to the CBA Compensation Quarterly. His leadership experience extends to serving as President of the Tolland County Bar Association and as an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. An alumnus of Western New England University School of Law, Mark also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and History from Westfield State University and furthered his studies at American International College. His commitment to community service is evident through his involvement with various local boards, including the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance for the Town of Ellington. Residing in Vernon, Connecticut, Mark enjoys family outings with his wife, Francine, their two children, and six grandchildren, as well as gardening and skiing in his leisure time.
