About
Louis I. Lipsky serves as the managing partner of both the firm's Pennsylvania and New Jersey offices. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with honors from The Wharton School of Business, majoring in entrepreneurial management and marketing, with a BS Economics in 1983. Mr. Lipsky is also a 1986 graduate of The Temple University School of Law and is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, and Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania and District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Lipsky concentrates his transaction and litigation practice in the areas of real estate, corporate, and commercial law representing individuals, estates, businesses, private and public lenders, developers, Receivers, and condominium associations. His real estate practice includes representing and advising clients in such areas as purchases, sales, and leases of residential, commercial and industrial real estate, condominium creation, conversion, and condo association representation, land use and zoning, loan and financing transactions on behalf of borrowers and lenders, syndications, and the creation of easements and licenses. He has participated in loan transactions and restructures for lenders and borrowers aggregating more than $500 million since beginning his practice. His litigation practice encompasses representing individuals, estates, and businesses as plaintiffs and defendants in such litigations matters as collections, construction, property defects, bankruptcy litigation, estate litigation, mechanics' liens, foreclosures, condemnation, partition, quiet title, ejectment, land and boundary disputes, property redemptions, shareholder, member, and partner disputes, employment disputes, including restrictive covenant litigation, landlord/tenant, severe personal injury, and injunctions, successfully trying both jury and non-jury cases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey State and Federal Courts for almost forty years. During his career in 2018, he successfully obtained a defense verdict for two clients in a Federal Court fraud trial where Plaintiffs had alleged damages against his clients in excess of $8 million in one year prior to trial, and obtained a defense verdict for four clients in Federal Court in excess of $33 million. Recently, he represented a real estate developer in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas obtaining a verdict in excess of $1 million claiming that a lender had chilled this option to purchase property. His corporate practice encompasses representing and advising small, medium and large businesses in their day to day affairs beginning with the formation of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, resolving owner disputes, addressing employer/employee issues, reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts, including those for the sale and purchase of businesses, and providing advice on general corporate matters. Recently he represented a purchaser of property in New Jersey in a combined $82 million financing transaction with a lender and mezzanine lender. He has also lectured at seminars in his field. Since 2012, Mr. Lipsky has been one of the five percent of attorneys in Pennsylvania named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine and superlawyers.com in the field of real estate based upon twelve indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement including experience, verdicts and settlements, transactions, clients, honors and awards, and discipline record. He has also received a "Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished" rating since 2008 for both legal ability and ethical standards. In his spare time, Mr. Lipsky enjoys spending time with his wife, Tammi, and enjoys traveling, golfing, and working, often all at the same time. He is now officially retired from fantasy football.
