He was a member of regional and national championship trial advocacy teams, placing first place at both the 2007 St. John's National Civil Rights Competition and the 2007 Texas Young Lawyer Association/American College of Trial Lawyer's Regional Trial Competition. He also won the Perfect Advocate Award at the 2006 American Bar Association National Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy Championship. Mr. Jacobs also interned for the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York and for the Hon. Martin Schneier, Justice of the Supreme Court of New York, Kings County . While at Brooklyn Law School he was awarded the Judge Doris A. Thompson and Judge Edward Thompson Award For Excellence In Trial Advocacy, Cornelius T. Wickersham, Jr. Prize For Excellence in Constitutional Law, and the Dean Jerome Prince Prize for Excellence in Evidence. He is the author of Is What's Yours Really Mine?: Shmueli v. Corcoran Group and Penumbral Property Rights. 14 J.L. & Pol'y 837 (2006). Mr. Jacobs is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
