About

Lee Burrows’ primary practice is in complex commercial, real property and employment litigation. He has represented large companies, small employers and employees in a broad range of transactional and employment related matters, including breach of contract, unfair competition, discrimination and retaliation claims under FEHA, trade secret and copyright infringement, wrongful termination, and California Industrial Welfare Commission wage order violations. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the prosecution and defense of class actions and other representative claims in the tort and employment arenas. Mr. Burrows has handled a variety of multi-party, large scale tort litigations, including environmental and toxic tort, product liability, construction defect and catastrophic slope failure actions. He has served as general counsel and litigation counsel for numerous homeowners’ associations and property management companies throughout Southern California. Mr. Burrows’ litigation experience includes trial and appellate practice. He has tried numerous court trials involving transactional, real property and employment related matters and second-chaired seven jury trials to verdict. He has successfully arbitrated numerous tort and contract claims representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Burrows is honored with Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating in legal proficiency and ethics with the award of an AV rating. This rating is based entirely on reviews by legal peers, including judges and attorneys located in the Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties. Mr. Burrows is admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Burrows received his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California in 1993. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a specialization in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1988. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, Orange County Bar Association, American Inns of Court, Community Associations Institute (CAI) and CACM. Mr. Burrows is a frequent public speaker on legal topics to the bar and the general public, including the following: Trust and Other Asset Protection Devices, John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. (1999); The Mold Challenge in California, National Business Institute (2003 Water Intrusion and Mold Claims, Sterling Education Services (2003); The Challenge of Litigating Under Business & Professions Code 17200, Los Angeles County Bar Association (2004); Practicing Under Section 17200 in 2005, Orange County Bar Association (2005); Business And Professions Code Section 17200 in California, Lorman Education Services (2005, 2006) Mr. Burrows also co-authored the publications which were related to these engagements. Mr. Burrows volunteers yearly as an attorney-judge for the high school Mock Trial competition sponsored by the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County.
