Lachlan McKinion is an Associate in Tully Rinckey’s Washington, D.C., office, where he focuses on national security and security clearance law. Lachlan’s practice includes appellate litigation before the Merit Systems Protection Board, guiding Intelligence Community and Defense clients through the security adjudication process, and representing whistleblowers before the Office of Special Counsel and various Intelligence and Defense Inspectors General. As he previously served in the Office of Senator Tim Scott, Lachlan has a wide knowledge of the legal and political landscape on Capitol Hill and is able to navigate clients through congressional hearings and investigations. Lachlan has petitioned Senators and congressional committees for inquiries into reprisal taken against his clients. Lachlan graduated cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he was president of the Federalist Society and integral in the founding of the National Military and Veterans Law Student Society. Lachlan obtained training in national security law and international law from Duke University School of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Charleston Southern University.
